Fairly common resident.

Crataegus spp., Prunus spinosa and Cotoneaster spp., in parks and gardens, with larva feeding communally from September to June, mining leaves in a sticky web. Larvae can be very common on Cotoneaster, covering shrubs in extensive sheets of webbing. Pupates freely in the web without any cocoon.
