Fairly common resident.

Mines leaves of Salix caprea and S. cinerea with larva feeding in October/November, at first feeding in the petiole/midrib and then in a blotch in the leaf with a double line of frass edging the passage from the midrib. May produce 'green islands' in fallen leaves.
