Juniperus communis, Cypress spp. or Chamaecyparis spp. with larva feeding from June to March, in a shoot, causing discolouration. Occasionally a partial second brood with adults in late summer.
Larvae feed in a similar way to A. cupressella but normally complete feeding a month or two earlier. A. trifasciata larvae have black heads while those of A. cupressella are brown.
